A high-end retreat on a working ranch, built for intimate experiences

You’re planning something worth gathering for – a company offsite, a leadership retreat, a friend or family reunion, or a wedding – and you want a place that offers an unforgettable experience from the moment everyone arrives.

Rising Circle Ranch isn’t a hotel juggling several large events at once. We typically host one or two small groups of 10-30 people across our two retreats centers at a time, which means that you can have the full run of your own private retreat property  surrounded by four square miles of high desert, hiking trails, and beautiful spaces made for gathering. The high-ceilinged buildings are classic Pueblo Revival architecture, with earth-toned stucco, exposed beams, covered porches, and shaded walkways. It’s remote enough to feel like a world away, yet just 25 minutes from Santa Fe.

Whatever you’re here to accomplish or celebrate, our team will handle the details so you don’t have to.

Designed with intention, on land where people have gathered for millennia

Rising Circle Ranch was designed by hotelier Chip Conley to do something a hotel or conference center can’t: give small groups a high-end retreat experience that feels completely their own.

Every detail was chosen with a hotelier’s eye – hand-selected tile, solid wood wardrobes, organic cotton bathrobes, beds you won’t want to leave. Our hospitality staff was trained by Chip himself with a high level of detail and awareness to ensure all your needs are met throughout your stay.

The land the ranch sits on has drawn people together for thousands of years. The Galisteo Basin has been a place of gathering and passage since at least 7,500 BCE – a historic trade route between prehistoric Paleo-Indians and historic indigenous peoples, such as the Puebloans and Plains tribes. Its ridges are still marked with the petroglyphs they left behind.

It’s a space for transformative experiences, where people can recharge and reconnect, and the regenerative initiatives we are practicing continue to preserve the land and honor those before.

Delicious meals, locally sourced and made from scratch

Our chefs cook three meals a day from scratch, using organic ingredients grown and raised nearby – the flavors of Northern New Mexico, drawn from Native American, Spanish, and Mexican traditions. Long tables, generous spreads, and the kind of dinners your group lingers over well after the plates are cleared.

Between meals, the kitchens stay stocked with snacks, fresh-fruit smoothies, and drinks. And for your event, the chefs build a menu around your group and the occasion.

The part they’ll remember most

The best gatherings leave people changed – closer, more connected, better at being together. That rarely happens on its own, which is why our facilitators can build guided experiences right into your stay.

Drawing on decades of work in leadership and human connection, our team can lead a morning circle to open the day with focus and candor, run a session on the art of listening or cultivating purpose, or design something tailored to what your group is here to do. These are the experiences people point to later as the reason the time together mattered.

Tell us what you want your time here to do, and we’ll help shape a program around it.

Designed by hotelier Chip Conley

Rising Circle Ranch was designed by Chip Conley, who founded Joie de Vivre and built it into the second-largest boutique-hotel group in the United States, then joined Airbnb as its Head of Global Hospitality and Strategy, helping turn a startup into a global name.

Chip designed Rising Circle Ranch around a simple idea: the right place changes what happens between people. When the food’s taken care of and nothing’s left for you to sort out, a group can finally slow down and be together. That idea shaped everything here, from the layout of the buildings to the pace of a day on the ranch.

He built the ranch to a standard he’d want for his own family and friends. A hotelier notices what most people never do: the temperature of a room at dusk, how long a welcome takes, whether a chair actually invites you to sit.

That’s why a stay here feels like being handed the keys to a place built, down to the last detail, to take remarkable care of your group.

Leave the logistics to us

You bring your people. We handle the rest.

Lodging, meals, activities, and the flow of the days come together before you arrive, planned with you over a couple of calls so nothing’s left to chance. Once you’re here, our experienced hospitality team takes care of it – the meals served, the rooms turned down, the trail rides scheduled, the fires lit – so the person who organized this gets to enjoy it like everyone else.

No vendors to wrangle, spreadsheet to babysit, or running the show from the sidelines. Just time with the people you came to be with.
